Did you know that PhysEmp started out as a magazine? Yep, that’s right. In 1990, our CEO, Robert Truog, published the first issue of Physicians Employment, a national guide listing positions in all medical specialties.

If you’ve been a practicing physician for 25 or more years, you might remember thumbing through the guide to read about the latest jobs across the country. Now, of course, paper is passé. How the times have changed!

June 6: PhysEmp’s “Give a Dog a Bone” Run/Walk to Support Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter

At PhysEmp.com, we connect quality physicians with top hospitals, clinics, and search firms. And in our free time, we like to give back to the community that houses our company offices! If you live in Southeast Iowa, lace up your sneakers, leash up your dog, and head out to Chautauqua Park on June 6 for Physician Employment’s annual “Give a Dog a Bone” 5K Run/Walk. The event, which generated $1,500 in generous donations last year, helps to raise funds to support local animal shelter Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation.

“Last year’s event was so much fun: bringing the community together and helping out a great cause. Our first year was such a success, we can’t wait to see what round two brings!” said PhysEmp Customer Service Representative Melinda Fishel, who is organizing the event.

 

If you don’t have a pooch, you can run solo. Or just stop by and say hi to some of Noah’s Ark’s furry friends, who will be at the park for a special outing. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 9:00. Participants will go home with a T-shirt and winners will receive prizes.

I’m happy to announce that our participation at the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters 2014 Conference was a great success!

Everyone welcomed us to our very first conference and was incredibly pleasant. Overall, there was a wide variety of opportunities for networking with other vendors, recruiters and in-house hospital staff, and it also gave us the chance to learn even more about the industry. Our team had great conversations with many attendees who stopped by to get a picture with Beyoncé and Ryan Gosling—our cardboard cut-out smilebooth guests—or to grab a goodie bag filled with coffee cereal, slippers, a hangover kit and informational material about PhysEmp.com.
