Twitter’s 10 Years Old! What That Means for M.D. Recruiters

Twitter, the San Francisco-based microblogging giant that changed the way the world communicates, is turning ten today. They’ve put together this inspiring video to mark the occasion, and it’s worth a quick watch for all M.D. recruiters out there.

As you can see, more people than ever are using Twitter—including the Pope! And if Twitter has played a prominent role in everything from Royal Family weddings to comedy, communication about world crises, political uprisings, and new innovations worldwide, you’d better believe it has been, and will continue to be, a key player on the job market as well.

Watch this terrific video on Twitter’s birthday below:

According to a recent article in Forbes, 94% of recruiters use social media in their recruiting efforts, and at least 78% of recruiters have hired through social media. Says Ashley Stahl, author of the article, “In helping job-seekers find their purpose and land more job offers, one of the most powerful platforms I’ve seen for up-leveling the job search is Twitter. Studies confirm what I’ve been witnessing: Twitter has more job openings than any other social media site and more active job seekers than LinkedIn.”

So there you have it. What’s more, physicians are increasingly turning to Twitter to read and share medical expertise, making Twitter an excellent platform to share M.D. jobs and build relationships with prospective candidates.
